Abstract:
A practical approach to resource management for microservices is presented to keep latency predictable without excessive overprovisioning. The method combines an M/M/m queueing model for waiting-time estimation with short-horizon workload forecasting. It is shown how to derive the target replica count from the predicted arrival rate and how to combine proactive decisions with reactive autoscaling based on metrics. A calculation example and simulation results are provided.
