Abstract:
The article provides an overview of the MAC-address as a hardware identifier, its uniqueness and structure, as well as its application in network security. The author examines the fundamental principles, the concept of hardware (physical) address in network technologies, its detailed structure, and the provision of global uniqueness. The uniqueness of the work lies in the analysis of the uniqueness of the MAC-address, as well as the factors that violate it, and the examination of its structure and role.
