The article provides a comparative analysis of information system modeling methods – structural (DFD, IDEF0), object-oriented (UML) and process–based (BPMN) - in the context of their lifecycle stages. The strengths and limitations of each approach are considered, as well as their applicability in requirements collection, architecture design, development, testing, and operation of IP. The results are summarized in a comparative table. It is concluded that effective design requires not the choice of a single method, but their combined application, depending on the tasks to be solved at each stage.
