Abstract:
The article describes the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), which is becoming one of the key technological factors of global transformations in the economy, industry and the social sphere. At the same time, its impact on the environment is increasing. On the one hand, AI contributes to an increase in energy consumption, an increase in the load on data centers and the need for rare earth metals. On the other hand, it is AI that allows us to develop new approaches to environmental monitoring, reducing emissions, optimizing resource use, and shaping sustainable development strategies. The paper examines current trends in the impact of artificial intelligence on the environment, analyzes environmental risks, as well as the possibilities of using AI to improve the quality of the environment. The actual data, analytical estimates and promising areas of use of intelligent systems are presented.
