The paper examines contemporary software testing methodologies in the context of development process transformation from traditional waterfall models to continuous delivery practices. The evolution of testing from an isolated verification stage to an integrated component of the development lifecycle is demonstrated, providing immediate quality feedback for every code change. The analysis covers classification of testing methods by levels, techniques, and types, with justification of the shift-left strategy effectiveness for reducing defect correction costs. Special attention is given to the role of test automation and integration of verification checks into continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
