The article discusses the problem of upgrading an outdated but critically important engineering data management information system (PDM) in conditions where it cannot be completely replaced due to the huge amount of accumulated data and security requirements. Using the example of the Lotsia PDM PLUS system operated by GSP Engineering JSC, a three-stage concept of phased modernization is proposed. The key elements of the concept are: creating an API gateway for secure integration, developing a modern web interface, and stabilizing interaction with external applications. This approach significantly improves the security, usability, and functionality of the system without the risks associated with full data migration.
