The paper considers the influence of water and mechanical impurities on the deterioration of the quality and operational properties of automotive fuels. A brief classification of existing methods for cleaning petroleum products from these pollutants is presented. As a promising solution, the task is to develop an electric dehydrogenator designed for efficient purification of automobile fuels in order to increase its quality.
