Abstract and keywords

Abstract:
Long-term domestic and foreign forest breeding studies have proven that offspring grown from seeds of normal breeding categories or from seeds harvested from superior trees mostly inherit their valuable, genetically determined properties and growth characteristics. The cost assessment of the available timber stock in 59-61-year-old stands of geographical forest cultures of Scots pine of forest-steppe ecotypes indicates the feasibility of implementing the most promising ones in sustainable and expanded artificial reforestation in the forest-steppe forest-growing zone of the European part of the Russian Federation.
