The article discusses the modernization of the modernization of the material and technical base for the development of the forestry complex. The spread of the achievements of science and technology, which were reported in recent years, as well as the decline of economic and social management have led to fundamental changes in the development and implementation of scientific, technical and technical principles in timber industry. Today one cannot speak of good planning without scientific and technical forecasts. Forecasts of scientific and technological advances, which are increasingly made on the basis of foresight, are becoming an important part of informing and supporting experts in making long-term decisions in developed and leading countries of the world, international organizations. Russia is collaborating with the rest of the world to develop technical monitoring systems for various countries.
