Abstract (English):
The article discusses the importance of meaningful reading in foreign language classes in an educational institution of secondary professional education (hereinafter referred to as SPE), the main stages of working on the text to understand the content of the material read, the need to stimulate students' interest in reading by selecting authentic texts of different genres and types. The article also affirms the importance of meaningful reading in a foreign language as a way of personal growth and professional improvement.
