The article discusses measures aimed at ensuring traffic safety on highways. The options for installing fences instead of the device of gentle embankment slopes, changing the geometric parameters of the roadbed are considered. At the same time, in order to solve the issue, constructive and planning solutions should be compared with each other at a minimum of the total reduced costs.
