With increasing urbanization, traffic congestion occurs, as well as increased traffic at intersections, which in itself becomes a separate problem that needs to be addressed. One of the most important factors in optimizing the traffic light regulation cycle and determining the density of traffic flows waiting at intersections is delay. Traditional delay detection methods are ineffective when there is high traffic at intersections. Therefore, traffic volume, waiting time, and the average number of cars in line are also important parameters in the design of traffic light control systems.
