Abstract (English):
The limiting environmental factors in terms of the successful growth of woody introduced plants in most regions of Russia are low temperatures in certain seasons and a complex set of external conditions. The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of weather anomalies in 2024 on the condition of some species of woody introduced plants planted on the territory of the Koltsovsky Park in Voronezh in 2018, and to identify the most promising species among them. The study summarized temperature data to establish the climatic norm of the average temperature, and then compared the actual temperatures in 2024, which was characterized by numerous weather anomalies. At the next stage of the analysis, the winter hardiness of the study objects was assessed after the end of the late spring frosts, during which the Western Carcass (Celtisoccidentalis) and marsh carcass (QuercusPalustris) turned out to be the least stable, while the rest of the analyzed species are hardy.An analysis of the degree of flowering and fruiting of some species in 2024 and a comparison of the indicators with the data of 2022 were carried out, and a conclusion was made about the negative impact of late spring frosts in 2024. This paper also provides indicators of the mass of 1000 seeds of some research objects, it was revealed that the mass of 1000 seeds of the ornamental Apple tree (Malus) ‘Red Sentinel and Swedish Mountain Ash (Sorbusintermedia) Brouwers in 2024 are almost 2 times lower than the same indicator, which, in our opinion, is the result of the influence of negative temperatures in May 2024, high temperatures in the summer months, as well as low precipitation.
