As a result of field and laboratory studies of the developmental features of the assimilation apparatus of English oak under different lighting conditions, it was established that the morphogenesis of leaf tissues is disrupted. This is evidenced by a decrease in the thickness of the leaf blade with a lack of light, which occurs due to a decrease in the thickness of the mesophyll, especially the columnar one. At the same time, when shaded, there is a change in photosynthetic units, the number of which decreases due to a reduction in the number of chloroplasts in each cell of the columnar mesophyll.
