COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF PYROLYSIS OF PLUM SEEDS AND OTHER FRUIT SEEDS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ACTIVATED CARBON
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The processes of processing plum, apricot and cherry seeds into activated carbon are considered, their adsorption properties and production conditions are studied. A comparative analysis of such technical characteristics as specific surface area, pore volume and sorption activity has been carried out. The best results were achieved for activated carbon from apricot kernels, a similar level was shown by coal from plum kernels. The cherry stone was characterized by minimal ash content and optimal pore ratio. Optimal pyrolysis conditions, including temperature, heating rate, and cooling mode, have been determined. The study confirmed the prospects of using fruit seeds for the production of activated carbon with high adsorption characteristics.
