In the context of the digital transformation of education, gamification and the introduction of game learning are becoming one of the tools to increase student engagement. The article examines the experience of using game methods in teaching the course "Fundamentals of Russian Statehood", analyzes pedagogical risks and the main problems of gamification, and suggests methodological approaches to the development of educational games. Attention is paid to the possibilities of developing practical skills and critical thinking through game scenarios.
