"OLD AND NEW FICTION WRITERS": HOW FICTION HAS CHANGED WITH THE ADOPTION OF THE GREAT REFORMS OF ALEXANDER II (THE VIEW OF THE NARODNIK L.E. OBOLENSKY)
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
This article analyzes the evolution of Russian fiction before and after 1861, based on the critical study by L.E. Obolensky "Where is the Truth? Old and new fiction writers". Obolensky noted a change in public demand: instead of artistic images, the public began to demand practical doctrines. He believed that the truth in art is achieved through the reconciliation of extremes through a deep study of the new reality and a return to a living image, which contributes to the creation of brilliant works in Russia.
