This article examines the problem of improving the efficiency of the wood milling process under conditions of material heterogeneity. A two-loop adaptive control algorithm based on the analysis of the spindle power signal is proposed. Experiments have confirmed the possibility of reducing peak loads and extending tool life without the use of additional sensors.
