The problem of increasing logging efficiency while reducing anthropogenic impact and injuries requires the introduction of unmanned technologies. The paper considers approaches to integrating autonomous harvesters and forwarders into the timber industry system. It is shown that simple use of GPS navigation without adaptive grip control leads to low positioning accuracy and damage to standing trees.
